Hi question I’m extremely interested in this and would like to buy but is it safe I’ve never heard of or used this website before so was just wondering if this was safe or not
More. More. I need more. I wanna play games in this setting. Not as a tactical strategy game, but as an RPG where the players are expected to die like 10 times in session 1.
I'm in a huge argument with a friend. Blood Boil reads "Trigger: Unit is slain. Effect: Unit is not slain but remains at 0 hp and becomes immune to all damage." The victory conditions read "In all situations, you are defeated and lose a battle when your necromancer is slain."
So my homie hits Warcord, she's already used Blood Rage, I burn 4 Soul for Blood Boil. He says that since she was slain, as the trigger, the game ends instantly. I argue that the nature of the power implies she's not slain and she'd get another turn.
I got an answer to this, in case anyone wants to know.
"You're actually in the right here. Part 1 of the blood rage trigger should probably say 'unit would be slain'. However, Blood Boil definitely makes you lose if the game times out, so use it carefully!
I was immensely excited for this game following a video I found on Youtube, but I'm admittedly feeling a little confused and let down. It's important to know that I did pay for this and I don't feel cheated or anything, I paid for what I got and what is here is REALLY good and interesting.
I feel like I'm really missing a lot of guts and filler. This book teases a really vibrant, unique setting but there is so little world building or fleshing out. So much of the art is limited to either GIGANTIC gorgeous scenes or tiiiny little character portraits, but very little middle-ground with larger single-character artwork to give some life to the inhabitants of the city or the units you'll be playing as/with. I feel like if this book was expanded and every unit was given a distinct page or at least much more dedicated space for their own art, stats and flavor text to flesh them out you'd be striking gold here. But that's also asking the writer and artist to make a whole other product and I don't want to sound ungrateful for what work did already gone into this.
I suppose what I'm really dealing with here is wanting a full TTRPG Book and only getting a sliver of a game and its setting with a smaller combat-focused game book. I don't regret my purchase or anything of the sort, I'm just desperately hoping this setting and book can be expanded to a much larger project.
I quite literally mentioned this, yes. I think the setting could be adapted into a larger game. Is that a bad thing to think a Product is so good that its constrained by the form of its initial publication?
Is there some reason you deliberately keep misrepresenting what I said? My "issue" if we even want to call it that, is I bought the game after finding a video talking about it, and I would love to see a more fleshed out TTRPG book/game for this setting. I like the material so much, even if initially I thought I was getting something bigger than what was actually purchased, that I would pay for a larger game in an expanded form.
What is the issue here? The material is good enough that I want more and would pay for more.
Very much enjoy reading this game! Going to see if I can use it with my favorite VTT FoundryVTT or maybe print some stuff out to try with a friend. Keep up the good work!
I absolutely love this! A lot of excelent MörkBorg vibes with your fantastic art. A little question. If web make a campaign or some scenarios, What are the rules or step to publish/share them with the comunity? Could we do that?
It would be nice if text was selectable. Right now, to use it anywhere (VTT or to create printable cards), I have to re-type everything manually or use OCR.
My advice? See if your local library has a maker lab. If they do, they might have a 3D printer you can use to make your figures and classes on how to use it in the first place.
Ah, thank you but I wasn't looking to make figurines, which I now realise is what NSminiature was talking about! I draw standees and I liked the idea of printing them onto acrylic tokens instead of cardboard.
Check out vograce.com, you can get custom acrylic standees there for super cheap, with a min order quantity of I think 3 per design, which you'd probably be doing anyways for this. I've used them myself and can highly recommend.
I really love this book, it absolutely oozes style. What I want to know if there will be any expansion on the world in the future? Will the items at the back of the book have any uses? What the hell is Yorg's deal? The SKELETON BALL???
Amazing! Do you have recommendations for printing options? I'd like to get a hard copy but there aren't any margins on this thing and I'm a printing noob.
On the very top of the page you will see a message that says "you own this game" with a button that takes you to the download page. You can also go to the "My Library" tab on your profile and hit the button there :)
This feels like Tom took all the things that worked really good from ICONs combat and turned it into a skirmish with sick art and sicker lore, and Im so very here for that, can’t wait to try it out
The Nirasawa (RIP) vibe is really heavy in this. Really curious if you have any alliances to get 3d print or physical minis made for the game? Because frankly, I'd love to buy and paint them. Already planning to butcher a TON of necromunda bits and 3d prints to make my first board.
Hey, read a buddy's copy of the game, and it's cool! I'm excited to sit down with them and play it (and buy it later). Concern, though: the font choice for titles on boxes and such and the large lettering for major factions and the like is an accessibility issue. The fonts are difficult to read for me, and I had another friend who could hardly parse it at all. It's kind of an issue if a player can't tell what most of the boxes are labelled. Maybe you could include a smaller, more legible version of those texts somewhere nearby?
Question: How intentional were the Yasushi Nirasawa vibes here? Because everything I've seen of this gives me a lot of those, and I mean that as a compliment!
Silly question: How does Blood Rage interact with damage that can't slay a unit? Does "can't slay a unit" functionally mean "if this damage would reduce the unit's HP to zero, instead reduce it to 1", or something else?

holy fuck
I am so in love with this-- holy shit man, for the love of god get some expansions cooking so I can throw more money at this * o*
also yes, like others are saying; enough fluff to run some TTRPG's off it cause this setting is dynamite.
also fuck yea for the playlist to the factions. awesome touch! I havent seen an author do this since Bleach's old manga back in the day
Hi question I’m extremely interested in this and would like to buy but is it safe I’ve never heard of or used this website before so was just wondering if this was safe or not
It is, this is a great site
Yes, it's a well known site for indie games
I would... No, I will kill to get a ttrpg in this setting
Do it with another system. Blades in the dark would be perfect! Or just create a FATE adventure in the setting!
holy shit fuck give me so much of this i drown in it then return me to unlife so i can do it again
LOVE IT! I' M GONNA LOVE TO PLAY CARCASS
Bro really just dropped a pimpin setting with the #1 baddie of 2023 on the cover. Please God (satan?) I need more.
any chance for a physical edition with some sexy evil dice? PLEASE! 🙏🏼♥️🖤

absolutely. For some reason I want it to have Pokémon style capturing and fighting of ghouls and skeletons you can collect
Me patiently waiting for community copies to appear >:).
or a fun new years discount!

Heard about this from a vid and instantly got it! Great work!
is it a safe buy just wondered because I’d like to buy this too I just don’t know if it is safe
Love it, the art, the concepts, everything, i can only hope it grows into something bigger

is this a safe buy?
Yes I'd say its well worth the money as-is. I'd just love to see a larger game personally and expand the setting.
"I paid less than $7 for a light-weight skirmish game why isn't a fully fledged TTRPG with far more art and writing?"
I quite literally mentioned this, yes. I think the setting could be adapted into a larger game. Is that a bad thing to think a Product is so good that its constrained by the form of its initial publication?
"Why is this game as it's described on this page and not exactly what I want it to be? Very disappointing, the author should fix that."
Is there some reason you deliberately keep misrepresenting what I said? I’d love a ttrpg based on this
Yo, this setting would be so rad
Just got it and excited to play! Mainly thinking of playing in person, anyone have good model recommendations?
I just bought the game and wow, the art and presentation is just amazing!
If I could wish for one thing though, that would be tokens for the necromancers to use in a VTT.
Oh right almost forgot
Any chance we can get the Update1 PDF in the same format as the original? That'd make it a lot easier for printing.
Any intention of using this setting for an RPG book? That would be amazing. Love the art.
This looks fun and also: Your artwork is out of control gorgeous.
Very much enjoy reading this game! Going to see if I can use it with my favorite VTT FoundryVTT or maybe print some stuff out to try with a friend. Keep up the good work!

Your art and games are great. Question. May I personally make an acrylic figure from the enclosed illustration to play the game?
Question. Would you tell me how you make acrylic figures? I love standees but I make mine from cereal boxes, like an animal.
My advice? See if your local library has a maker lab. If they do, they might have a 3D printer you can use to make your figures and classes on how to use it in the first place.

Oh woah, that's a really good suggestion. Thanks a lot!
If you plan on or make STLs to print, shoot me a message. I'm looking into editing Open Forge 2.0 tiles a bit to replace their clips with magnets.
Any plans for a physical release? Thank you.
this game is "trv kvlt metal".
I really love this book, it absolutely oozes style. What I want to know if there will be any expansion on the world in the future? Will the items at the back of the book have any uses? What the hell is Yorg's deal? The SKELETON BALL???

Is it possible to get the update in single-page format as opposed to spreads?
+1 this. I want to print it, and the single page format is easier for this
Reading on a tablet is also much easier in single spread.
is there a way to get the update if we bought the release version?
On the very top of the page you will see a message that says "you own this game" with a button that takes you to the download page. You can also go to the "My Library" tab on your profile and hit the button there :)

(Also ty for including 2v2 and FFA)
Very cool concept. This has Locked Tomb vibes.

Where can we send feedback and about issues in the pdf or rules questions?
Pop it on the release devlog just up there

I have started a Lemmy community about Magnagothica. Come over and post your warbands, playlists and fanart!
