Hallo! I bought the book a while back and printed it for myself because I wanted it in physical version. Cost me a pretty penny but it was good work! I'm understanding my mistake now that an update has come out, but alas, can't do much about it.
I'm going to test the game tomorrow, but I have a few suggestions already, mainly to support people who want to play the game in a physical format. It's nothing much, but it would help greatly:
Sell together with the manual some printable standees (or howhever they're called). I mean, you already sell together with the manual the icons for each unit, might as well add that.
Make the Families and their units 'Printer Friendly'. Some, like Carcass, have a white background, but others, like the Igorri, have a black background. Printing those ones specifically drains my printer. So, yeah, maybe you could put up also a version that's just white background with the rest being completely unchanged.
These are the two main things I'd suggest. I know the game was meant to be played online, but some people just can't, like me, and still want to try it, so I spent a while doing the aforementioned things for myself (well, only the standees, I didn't manage to make the unit pages more printer friendly). I know I'm nobody to suggest these things, it's more work after all, but still, it'd be amazing if you could do that.
Otherwise, for those interested, I have a PDF with the printable standees for Carcass and the Igorri units. 6 Thralls each + all the other units within the limits put by the rules + 6 wall icons + 8 Elevated Terrain Icons + 4 Hazard Icons + a bunch of corpse markers.
You've created something amazing here and I can't wait to try it!
Heya, if we wanted to bring attention to some typos, inconsistencies, and such where should we post about'em? I'll post'em here for now, but will post them where I should when am told. Hopefully it helps either way!
Clarification on the CARCASS mechanic Headshot: does it trigger only on a naturally rolled 6, a total of exactly 6, or as long as the total is 6 or higher?
Ammo Goblin's Vomit Bullets upgrade description shows a (6) as the effect trigger...is this supposed to be 6+, or Headshot?
The CARCASS Tyrant's name is listed as EGIS in the book, but the icon/portrait files say AEGIS; which is right?
Operator's Akimbo's effects are on the same line as range and tag, doesn't match with most everything else.
Warlord's Superheated Chainblade's effects are on the same line as range and tag, doesn't match with most everything else.
Leech's Pandemic upgrade doesn't mention what it is actually upgrade.
Plaguelord's ACT Upgrade Vermin Form has "and and" in there.
Chosen's Kidnap ACT says "Curset", I believe it's supposed to say "Effect".
Vizigheist's Horrendous Shriek ACT says "Curse" where I believe it should say "Effect". Addditionally, the Condemn upgrade simply says "Shriek" when it probably should say "Horrendous Shriek."
Dark Priest's ACT Upgrade Frozen Hell just goes right into what it does, but I believe it's supposed to say "Effect:".
Zealot's trait Zealotry says "When MOVEing again...", but doesn't specify just every single turn after, or on the same turn, and the Smite ACT is missing the "Effect:" before the start of it's effects.
Inquisitor's unit art and portrait are named as Exorcist.
Exorcist's Starmetal Godsword's effects are on the same line as range and tag, doesn't match with most everything else.
Overall there' a lot of capitalization inconsistency in the following (but not limited to) locations:
Ammo Goblin's "Vomit Bullets" upgrade description
Operator's ACT Upgrades "Grenade jump", "LV4 living cannon", "SG88 two barrel shotgun", and SOUL Upgrade "Bullet hustle"
Rotten's "Catalyze" upgrade description
Leech's "Massive Swell" upgrade description
Host's "Swarm release" trait
Plaguelord's Bonus Trait "Pollution shroud"
Banshee's "Bale scream" ACT
Zealot's "Punisher" and "Fiery Chain" upgrade descriptions
Antipriest's "Cleansing Prayer" description
Holy Body's "Miraculous flesh" trait
Stitch's "Genestealer", "Spread Mutate", and "Warping Mutate" upgrade descriptions
it's been awhile but can you please release this in Pages format and not Spreads? we can't print this correctly when its in Spreads and people have been asking...
I would commit ungodly acts for a physical version of your games. They're the most inspired and fun games I've seen in ages, and I just need more of their settings and lore!
Is the Bonus Trait "Rapid Move" for the Chirurgeon supposed to trigger on the start of, the end of, or the start of end of your turn? The last option is what the text says but I wasn't sure if it's a typo.
Is there a way for the community to expand the lore or contribute to it as happens with Warhammer or Trench Crusade? I am completely in love with the dead souls. I see that there is little lore around this and other factions and I would love to contribute something to the dead souls in particular, whether by designing units, main characters/heroes, etc., simply for the love of art and the interesting concept of the faction. and the game itself, it would be a pleasure and an honor sincerely
I second this! I would love to be able to help with lore if the developers are at all interested, especially the Abhorrers and the Igorri. I would love to for the sake of love for the setting itself. I really enjoy this game setting and the lore that is there. It would be amazing to help out in anyway!
I’m not an artist but I have lots of personal creative writing experience, and can send in a sample if desired. I also have some video game design experience on a college level.
It's just called making a headcanon. Go wild, make whatever stories you want in this setting, but don't expect the creators to make them canon. That doesn't happen for Warhammer or Trench Crusade either, fans just make headcanons that you incorporate into your personal headcanon.
Click on the viy tab, its a pdf. It also is a computer game you play against other people. If you get a 3d printer you could turn it into a irl Table Top Wargame
The unit asset files don't seem to include necromancers (they have profile pics, but nothing to put on the table). Am I missing something, or are we supposed to draw our own?

Me, waiting for community copies to be a thing :(.
Am I the only one that thinks that the “Exorcist” looks like Father Anderson from Hellsing
So I'm not the only one!

Where can I find home brew?
There are two on Itch.io, just search up maleghast and you'll find it. Theres also a homebrew channel in the Lancer discord.

I DID BUY THAT HA-HA!!!!
how?

oh, I wanted an actual physical book. dang
Page 12, on the "Units" part there is a typo in the point 9. Upgrades.
Hope it helps, love your work.
Page 19, Splash and line effect, Paragraph 2, Penultimate line, "on" appears twice.
Wish there was a physical copy! Just for the art alone!

Hey, I think I found a typo? In the "Movement" section of page 10. it says "a unt may never act in the middle of a move".
Do you reckon we'll ever get miniatures for this game? I would love to play in person 40K style, especially with such cool creatures and characters!
